A2M (Alpha-2-macroglobulin)

What is A2M (Alpha-2-Macroglobulin)?

Alpha-2-Macroglobulin, or A2M for short, is a protein found in the plasma of the blood. A2M inhibits proteinases which break down and degenerate proteins found in our cartilage. For this reason, A2M can help slow down the progression of Osteoarthritis and pain due to cartilage loss. Decreased cartilage loss can help reverse symptoms such as limited joint mobility, pain and overall functioning

How can A2M act as a treatment for Pain?

Because A2M is a naturally occurring protein, A2M treatment is a relatively simple procedure involving an injection of your own A2M into a specified area for pain relief and joint treatment, commonly Osteoarthritis. A2M injections protect the joints and cartilage of affected areas and can even help promote restoration in areas of cartilage loss.

Decreased cartilage loss can help reverse symptoms such as:

  • limited joint mobility
  • pain
  • overall joint function
